An expectation in the General Learning Strategies (GLE) class is to model test taking techniques. I have found the Paul Devoto's YouTube Channel that covers this topic.

Knowledge Ontario is a premiere digital collection of resources. You must explore the digital collections and databases in order to appreciate the vastness and extent of the content that is found. In addition there are many links that I offer up to the students to extend lessons beyond the general and specific curriculum expectation.

Finding resources that will help me Entertain/Educate (Edutainment) students has been difficult. Aside from trying to infuse interaction with technology in lessons or assignments I often rely on flashy/catchy informative YouTube clips to help me grab and sustain their attention. Based on the familiar YouTube site I discovered TeacherTube.

Create and design your own graphs and charts online

Earlier I posted an online tool called Create a Graph. Here is another similar online tool that I have the students use when they collect information. The charts always represent the information visually for the visual learners. In addition I find that the students participate more when trying to make some sort of conclusion using the data collected or comparing it with some other statistic. Lastly by using the the online Chart Tool students take less time in the preparation (presentation) and more time on the inquiry and analysis.

I always like having the students develop their own personal credo. I like this activity for several reasons. Their credo helps me get to know the students better. Sometimes they provide information that they would not normally share with the teacher. In addition they sometimes also give me a glimpse into their aspirations or interests. I can then proceed and use that information to generate connections and as if not more importantly interest in the lessons. I really like giving the students the credo assignment after reading with them All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten - By Robert Fulghum. I used How to Write a Credo By Rhomylly Forbes, an eHow Contributor.
